The Wilson County Conservation Association held their annual poster contest and this year students from Altoona Midway 5th and 6th grade placed in the competition, sponsored by the National Association of Conservation Districts (NACD).

         This year’s topic was: Watersheds. The posters were titled: “Watersheds: Our Water, Our Home.”

         Taking first place in the 6th Grade competition was Gracie Stoldt from Altoona-Midway. Her poster qualified to continue forward to compete on a national level.

         Runnerup in the local 6th grade poster contest was Summer Raymond.

         In the 5th grade competition, Altoona Midway’s Sophia Daniels came away with 1st place honors. The 2nd place winner was Alicyn Hogue.

         Assisting the students in submitting their posters for the contest was Steve Dixon, K-12 art teacher for USD 387.
