ARMA – Despite some bright moments, the Altoona-Midway High School volleyball team was unable to come away with a victory in three matches at the Northeast-Arma Quadrangular played here Monday.

         The Lady Jets suffered losses at the hands of Chetopa 10-25, 9-25; Colony-Crest 24-26, 16-25; and Northeast-Arma 14-25, 9-25.

         “I’m so proud of how these girls played,” said AMHS head coach Treasure Hoag. “We did everything right, from serve receive to blocking to our digs.”

         Against Chetopa, Josie Huffman accounted for four digs and Michala Kinzle had two kills. Natalie Davis had a kill and three digs while Abby Reaves added a kill and Mariah Stackhouse recorded an ace.

         Against Colony-Crest, Kinzle paced the Lady Jets with five kills, six digs and pair of blocks, while Davis notched two kills, four digs, a block and a pair of aces. Stackhouse chipped in with an ace, a block, two digs and two kills. Summer Tarlton picked up six digs while Reaves had two aces and two kills.

         In the nightcap against Northeast-Arma, Kinzle received credit for nine digs and Davis recorded five. Each of them also had a block and Tarlton got another kill.

         Altoona-Midway, now 0-13 on the year, will participate Saturday in the Humboldt Tournament.
