ALTOONA-MIDWAY HIGH SCHOOL VOLLEYBALL

UNIONTOWN – For the second time in four days, the Altoona-Midway High
School Lady Jets traveled to Uniontown for volleyball action here Tuesday afternoon.
AMHS fell to Oswego 25-12, 25-15; and also lost to host Uniontown 25-7, 25-15.
But while they were unable to come away with any wins in the triangular, the Lady
Jets put together a much better showing in their return trip compared to Saturday’s
tournament appearance.
“I am very proud of how the girls played tonight,” AMHS head coach Bryn Dick
said of Monday’s effort. “The scores do not reflect the amount of effort they put into each
set.
“The girls kept their spirits up despite the score and that is something we have
struggled with all season,” Dick noted.
Against Oswego, Natalie Davis recorded two digs and two blocks, Josie Huffman
had an ace and a dig, Kyra O’Connor came away with an ace and a block, and Abi
Elsesser was credited with a dig.
In the Uniontown match, Davis notched four digs, three blocks and a kill, while
Abby Reaves had three digs, two kills and a block. Emma Martin chipped in with an ace
and a dig, and Patience Tarp finished with a pair of digs.
“Natalie Davis had some big digs for us and she showed some much needed
leadership out on the court tonight,” Dick said. “Natalie, Kyra, and Abby all did a good job
of setting up blocks.
“This was a good effort for us. We’re looking forward to regionals at Oswego next
Tuesday,” she added.
