UNIONTOWN – The Altoona-Midway High School volleyball team was unable to garner any
victories when they participated in the Uniontown quadrangular here Tuesday, Sept. 12.
The Lady Jets dropped all three of their matches on the day. Schools registering victories over
AMHS were host Uniontown 25-16, 25-8; Marmaton Valley 25-23, 25-19; and Yates Center 25-
6, 25-13. “We started out strong once again, but that was proven once again not to be enough,” said Altoona-Midway head coach Michelle Stackhouse. “Our confidence level needs to improve. We have the know-how and we start with the will to win, but somewhere along the way we lose confidence in ourselves.

“Because of this, our communication is not great and definitely not where it needs to be,”
Stackhouse continued. “We have improved on hustling and knowing our cover spots. That really showed tonight. The girls have proven to each other and to me that they can compete in this game. They just have to prove it to themselves.” Emmalynn Pupanek once again compiled some impressive stats for the Lady Jets. Pupanek finished with 98 digs, 20 serves (including 3 aces), 20 kills, and 6 blocks.Summer Raymond contributed 70 digs, 62 sets, and 13 serves, with 2 of them aces. Chantal Morales finished with 21 serves, 2 aces, and 30 digs.

The Jets also got 27 digs from Jyl Davis, as well as 9 serves with 3 of them aces, and Chloe Stewart recorded 53 digs, 8 serves and one ace. AMHS (1-11) was scheduled to participate in the Humboldt Tournament on Saturday, a dual with Marais des Cygnes on Monday at Melvern; and travel to Oswego on Tuesday for a triangular.
