BUFFALO – The Altoona-Midway Middle School volleyball team picked up its first victory of the season on Sept. 18, hosting Liberty Homeschool Alliance at Milo Peterson Gymnasium.
In a nip-and-tuck battle, the Lady Jets prevailed in a three-set thriller. Liberty captured the opening set 25-18, but AMMS rallied to win the final two sets 27-25 and 15-8.
“The best part of the night was to see the excitement these ladies felt getting that win,” said Brandi Swiler, who serves as assistant to head coach Heather Poeverlein for the middle school team.
“Another great thing was that everyone served well and had an ace while serving,” Swiler said. “I cannot say enough about how hard-working these ladies are each and every game.”
Kenzie Nalley led the Lady Jets in serving points for the night.
The AMMS Lady Jets are scheduled to host Tyro Christian School on Thursday (Oct. 2).
