BUFFALO - The Altoona-Midway High School volleyball team opened the home portion

of its 2026 fall campaign Tuesday afternoon, hosting squads from Marmaton Valley and

Erie in a Three Rivers League triangular event at Milo Peterson Gymnasium.

Unfortunately, the Lady Jets were unable to come up with wins in either of their

matches. Erie’s Red Devils rolled past AMHS 25-3, 25-6 in the first match. The Jets

performed better against Marmaton Valley, but the Lady Wildcats still prevailed 25-11,

25-15.

“Even though we lost, I saw improvement from our play Saturday (in the Uniontown

Tournament),” said AMHS head coach Sharee Bertrand. “The girls really came together

and started playing as a unit. They were moving well on the court.”

In the other match of the evening, Erie made it a sweep of the TRL triangular by

defeating Marmaton Valley 25-11, 25-19.

Next action for Altoona-Midway will be Tuesday, Sept. 8, when the Lady Jets travel to

Arma for a triangular against Southeast and Oswego.
