OSWEGO - It was a rough road trip for the Altoona-Midway Middle School volleyball team as they traveled here Monday for a Mineral Belt League triangular match.
AMMS dropped straight-set decisions against both foes. Host Oswego posted a 25-6, 25-16 victory, and Edna followed that up by downing the Lady Jets 25-10, 25-7.
Altoona-Midway also lost “B” team sets against both foes, falling 15-4, 15-10 to Oswego and 15-4, 15-8 to Edna.
“It was tough night. The girls looked and played like they were tired. But Oswego and Edna are both really good teams,” said Lady Jets coach Lacy Wheeler. “I’m glad that if we had to have an off night, that it happened before the (league) tournament.”
On Thursday, Oct. 1, AMMS hosted a non-league dual against Tyro Christian School. Results of that match can be found in a separate story.
The young Lady Jets also have a home triangular scheduled for Monday, Oct. 5, when Meadow View and Chetopa middle schools invade Milo Peterson Gymnasium. First serve is slated for 4 p.m.
