ALTOONA-MIDWAY HIGH SCHOOL SOFTBALL

ARMA – Northeast High School breezed past Altoona-Midway in a Three Rivers League doubleheader here Thursday.

The Lady Vikings steamrolled AMHS by scores of 26-0 and 25-0 in a pair of three-inning contests.

Senior Mariah Stackhouse managed the lone hit for the Lady Jets during the twinbill, rapping a nice single up the middle in the first inning of the second game. Summer Raymond was the only other player to reach base for Altoona-Midway, by virtue of a walk.

“That was the fastest and most consistent pitching we have seen so far, and we were just completely shut down offensively,” said AMHS head coach Randy Almond. “We will continue to work on fundamentals and grow and improve.”

Altoona-Midway (0-6) will return to action Monday, traveling to Yates Center.
