ALTOONA-MIDWAY HIGH SCHOOL VOLLEYBALL

UNIONTOWN – It was a tough Saturday for the Altoona-Midway High School
volleyball team as they dropped all four of their matches here in the Uniontown
Tournament.
The Lady Jets, 1-28, failed to win a set during the day’s action. AMHS lost to
Galena 25-16, 25-10; to Marmaton Valley 25-16, 25-9; to Uniontown 25-9, 25-6; and to
Olathe Heritage Christian Academy 25-9, 25-11.
“There’s not really much I can say. It was a very rough day for us,” said AMHS
head coach Bryn Dick. “The girls played very hard most of the day, but at times would let
their emotions get the best of them.
“Still, there were some bright moments. Kyra (O’Connor), Natalie (Davis), and
Mariah (Stackhouse) made things happen today,” Dick added. “I’m very proud of them.”
Davis had three digs, two kills and a block against Galena, while O’Connor had two
kills. Josie Huffman had a kill and Stackhouse added an ace.
Against Marmaton Valley, Stackhouse fired a pair of aces, Davis, Emma Martin,
and Alyssa Relph all had digs, and Abby Reaves recorded a kill.
The Uniontown match saw Davis pick up another two kills and two digs, while
Reaves had a pair of aces. Stackhouse and Martin notched kills and Huffman added a dig.
Davis and Abi Elsesser were credited with digs against Olathe Heritage.
