Elementary students delivered May baskets to some of the classrooms yesterday!

We'd like to take a minute to brag on our amazing students, teachers, and parents! After each assembly we've had this year, the guest speaker has commented on how well behaved and attentive our students are. A recent guest speaker remarked that what we have here is "uncommon and special" and emphasized what a great teaching staff we must have in order to have such great students. A different visitor to the district said he was "blown away by the quality and character of our students," while yet others have commented on the hard work ethic and positive attitudes of our students. While we would love to take credit for all of these glowing compliments about our students, we know that YOU, the parents, have an important part to play in that as well. Thanks for all that you do to support the students and teachers of Altoona-Midway! We appreciate you!!!

Joey Lamendola, Kieran Foster, Blake, and Kyler Nalley attended an informational demonstration about a CTE (Career and Technical Education) Pathway that will be offered next year at the Neodesha Fire Department. Coffeyville Community College will be offering free college credit, and supply the equipment needed for area high school students to attend for free. Students will have the opportunity to learn and get hands-on experience in all areas of Fire Science.
The students dressed in firefighter coats and pants, learned how to break open a locked door, crawl through fire holding their fire hose for guidance, and how to back into a tight spot in an attic and ended the day with fire hose bowling.

All events for today are going on as scheduled:
MS Track at Oswego 3:00 PM
HS Track at Neodesha 3:30 PM
HS Baseball at Yates Center 4:30 PM
