ServSafe Food Handlers Certification
Students in Mrs. Caylor's Culinary Essentials class earned the Servsafe Food Handler's Certification.
ServSafe is an educational program that was developed by the National Restaurant Association. Achieving the ServSafe Certification means that the student has knowledge about food safety and sanitation.
The ServSafe Food Handler certification is the most popular certification awarded. In order to earn the certification the students had to pass a test that covered five basic categories; basic food safety, personal hygiene, time and temperature, cross-contamination and allergens; cleaning and sanitation. Students receiving the certification have the advantage of obtaining a job in the Restaurant and Hospitality industry over other applicants. Students who received the certification this year are Luis Sanchez, Chase Nalley, Heather Lane, Ava Hufford, Chloe Stewart, Cade Crawford, and Kaylene Dorsey.
